WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Sen. Angus King, I-Maine, today announced the hiring of three new staff members, among  them a woman from Winterport.

Pat Bond, an energy and environmental policy specialist, is King’s new senior policy adviser. In addition, Maine natives Natalie Hodgman and Nancy Billings have joined King’s team as staff assistants. Both previously served as interns in his office.

“Pat, Natalie, and Nancy share our office’s passion for public service, and have the skills and dedication required to accomplish great things for our state," King said in a press release. "It’s a pleasure to welcome them to the team, and I am excited to see their contributions in the months and years ahead.”

Patrick Bond is a 16-year Capitol Hill veteran who previously worked for Sens. McCaskill and Rockefeller on energy and environmental matters. Most recently, Bond served as legislative director for Rep. Sylvia Garcia, D-Texas. He grew up in Charleston, West Virginia and graduated from St. Mary’s College of Maryland with a degree in biology.

Natalie Hodgman grew up on a farm in Winterport, where her family raised sheep. She is a graduate of Hampden Academy and Colorado State University. Natalie previously served as an intern in King’s office from May to August 2019.

Nancy Billings is a native of Nobleboro and a graduate of Lincoln Academy and Wesleyan University. She interned in King’s office from May to August 2018.
