Don your tartan and gather the wee bairns! The First Church in Belfast (104 Church St.) is holding its 14th annual Kirkin' o' the Tartans. Literally, "Kirkin’ o’ the Tartans” means “The blessing of the Tartans.”

First Church invites everyone, but especially those of Scottish or Celtic background and all those attending this year's 12th annual Maine Celtic Celebration, to wear kilts and tartans and join in a time of worship and celebration.

Piper Al Baker will provide special music with his wife Carol on drum, and the musical duo Sonas, made up of Jennifer Torrance (Celtic fiddle) and Nancy Neff (bouzouki).

So bring the lads and lassies and the whole clan for a blessing. You don't have to be of Scottish ancestry to catch the joy and enter the celebration of this event. All are welcome!

The First Church is an Open and Affirming Congregation, ADA Accessible, located at 104 Church Street in Belfast. For more information, please call the church office at 338-2282 or visit Facebook @FirstChurchinBelfastUCC or firstchurchinbelfast.org.
