Knit-a-thon for food pantries

Dec 01, 2017

Belfast — On Saturday, Dec. 9, the KnitMaine-ia team and the Women of St. Margaret's will host their bi-annual Knit-a-Thon from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the library of St. Margaret's Episcopal Church, 95 Court St.

Proceeds will be divided between the Searsport School HUSH (Help Us End Hunger) backpack and pantry program; and the Belfast Area High School Food Pantry. Non-perishable items and cash donations will be collected.

All ages are welcome to participate for an hour or all day. There will be knitting and crochet support, laughter, yummy food and great friends. Those how don't knit can learn how or simply come to show support; any and all hand-crafters are welcome.

Participants can get sponsors ahead of time or make a personal donation the day of the event. For more information, call (978) 325-0045 or email jillianliver@gmail.com.
