Hello All,

What nice weather we have had ― of course some rain showers thrown in there, but overall, nice. The leaves are turning those pretty colors of red, yellow and orange. Just spectacular. Leaves have been falling, and we know what comes next for sure. I dread the cold more and more. It must be a sign of getting older.

If you are in need of help with heating this winter contact the WCAP office at 338-3025 to get signed up for help. They will do a phone interview, and go from there with whatever is needed for paperwork. It helps out many people.

Free rabies clinic

Fair is over

I heard the MOFGA Common Ground Fair had around 57,000 people visit there this fall. The traffic is back to normal and we seem to have survived it. I never complain as I think it is good for our area. Brings in needed money to the area from those attending.

The 100th birthday celebration for Roy Ward is on Saturday, Oct. 26, 1 p.m. at the Freedom Grange Hall. RSVP to Jessica at 992-8143. An event page can be found on Facebook also.

Lost kitty

Nigel, the ragdoll 3-year-old kitty, is out there somewhere lost from his home on Halldale Road, Montville. $100.00 reward if found and safely returned. Been missing for several days. Neighbors and others are asked to please check your outbuildings, garages, decks, sheds or any place he would be hiding and scared. Contact Martha Couturier, 217-8907, or Beth Couturier. This is on Facebook, too. Help find this kitty.

Losing a family friend

Our condolences to the family of Rene Alley Walker Owen who has passed away at EMMC. She was living in Carmel, daughter of the late David and Nellie Alley of Knox. Thinking of her children, sister and other family at this time. She will be sadly missed.

Our sympathy to the family of Tommy Hillman who recently passed. Thinking of all at this time.

A very happy 85th birthday to Phil Pease. He is Carol Richardson's companion.

It is never good to be a bully, children to other children, ever. Please be aware of your children, how they act toward others. Be kind always.

Until next week,

Have a great week. Get some fresh veggies. There is pumpkins, squash, onions, tomatoes, hot peppers, carrots, potatoes, corn, gourds, and more at Heald Farm. Get some apples from a nearby orchard. Curra's stand is open on the weekend of Sept. 28-29.

Be safe and stay warm.
