Everett Ryan Cleaves, born Feb. 19 to Jake and Courtney Cleaves.

Hello All,

It is sunny today although cold out there, and have heard the next few days will warm up. That sounds good to me, otherwise I stay home and only go out if necessary. This getting older is for the birds, I reckon. We cannot stop the time, no matter what. Just enjoy our time, and make the best of it.

Some are out snowmobiling although there is not much snow here. My family and others are up in Jackman snowmobiling that area. Yesterday, several snowmobilers had an accident and a couple got hurt quite bad, happened in front of our group, I am thankful Wayne was leading the way and all got stopped just in time. And John called 911 for help for them.

It is scary out there. Going around corners and the speed with which some drive, and coming at you. Always be aware. I hope whoever it was will be OK soon. It has been so cold, was -16 there one day. I plan to not get far from my hot air furnace.

A son, Everett Ryan Cleaves, was born on Feb. 19 to Jake and Courtney Cleaves. He weighed 7 lbs., 5 oz., and was 20 inches long. Grandparents are Amy Larrabee McElroy and Jeff McElroy, and Mark and Diane Cleaves. Congrats to all.

The Ladies American Legion Auxiliary 4th District will meet on March 8 at 1 p.m. at Unity Post for the ladies meeting.

Sympathy to the family of Lisa O'Leary, who passed Feb. 18 after a long-fought battle with mental illness. She was the daughter of Donna (Ward) and the late Darrell O'Leary. He was my cousin. May she rest in peace.Thinking of all of the family. A celebration of life will be held at Riposta Funeral Home on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 4-6 p.m.

Much sympathy to the family of Walter Hacik, 89, who passed Feb. 17 at Woodlands. His late wife Lois was a sister to the late Dave Phillips of Freedom. Thinking of the remaining family.

Unity Area Regional Recycling Center

They are now accepting plastics, #1, to be kept separate, and #3 to #7. Also keep your CFL light bulbs separate from other items, so as not to break and cause mercury to be released into the environment. Batteries should be in separate container as well. Happy recycling. It all helps out.

Upcoming: Next Ice Races

The Unity Ice Oval Racing plans to happen Sunday, March 8, 10:30 a.m. Ice conditions good at this time. Hopefully Unity Pond will be in good shape for this fun event. See Darren Doughty or Mike Lancaster for any info. They have a site on Facebook.

Until next week,

I hope all are enjoying our sunny days. Schools have been on vacation. Basketball tournaments are in full swing for some. Montville Historical Society is still planning to be recording and sorting, making records of their holdings at the Kingdom School. Still have Knox Historical Society calendars for sale as well. Joyce Thompson has some, and Myrna Raven, and also the Town Office, and Ingraham Equipment.

Home again

Joyce Thompson is home once again from the hospital as they try to get her figured out. Dealing with blood thinners and diabetes. She has had heart attacks. Hopefully she will be better soon. She thanks all who were concerned about her, and for all the prayers for her to be better.

Stay safe and warm everyone.
