Hello All,

Here it is a rainy windy day for Friday the 13th. All is good here. I am ready for whatever the night brings. We have lost a lot of our snow. Mud season lurks for us now. Thankful our road is tarred. Hoping it gets the necessary repair. Bring on spring! Our town meeting next week, get out and attend on the 21st, 10 a.m. Vote for third selectman Friday, the 20th, 4-8 p.m.

Sympathy

Our condolences to Amy Ingraham and family in town on the loss of her brother, George McKenney, 89 years, of Palermo. Thinking of his wife Beverly and family at this time.

Our sympathy for the Family of Beverley Maddocks at this time. May she rest in peace.

Our sympathy also to the family and loved ones of Alden Andrews of Liberty who died over the weekend after being severely injured in a hit-and-run accident.

Unified basketball

Attended a couple of Winslow unified basketball games recently. David is a mentor with WJHS, and Katie is a mentor with the WHS team. They love this, and it is so nice to see the athletes really having fun and enjoying this time. It was the first I had ever heard of these games. Kevin, one of the players, wanted me to come watch him play, and I did see him. Nice time for all.

TV time

Had some time to spend with my sister Marilyn as my TV quit. We watched some reality shows we like, and had lunches together. But alas it was the antenna wire that fell apart. Got it fixed and all set for now. Imagine the wire just gave out; was old from back in Unity Home Furnishings days. Don Higgins I bought it from, I believe, TV and antenna.

Pancake breakfast

On Saturday, March 21, 8-10 a.m. at Dirigo Grange in Freedom at the Grange Hall. Maple sprup from Beaver Hill Plantation, and so yummy.

Solar interest in town

Apparently Pete Curra has plans for solar power. This was being discussed recently. The town is having a moratorium on solar projects for our town I hear.

Meeting canceled

The Montville Historical Society has canceled the March meeting. Next one is April 13, 7 p.m., at Kingdom School.

Open Door Lunches

Lunches at the Unity Community Center now will be set up as drive-through, no more dining inside. On Thursdays, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. weekly. Until further notice.

Breakfast

Marilyn and I decided to go to the Freedom Congregational St. Paddy's Breakfast Saturday morning. It was very good, and the biscuits and gravy was yummy, too. Had too much to eat.

Coronavirus

That is all we are hearing, and many people have lost their minds with buying up so much stuff, I think it is crazy. Get what you need, and not be selfish and buy loads so others have to go without, my word. I can see a two-week supply is plenty, I would assume. Be safe, wash your hands, and stay home all that you possibly can. Go only as needed. It keeps you from the flu as well. Buy something to take for a fever, cough, as well, basics to have ready. Oh well, you decide what is best for you. But hand-washing most important.

Bowen’s upcoming

First of all, happy 25th anniversary to Marylyn and Brice Sinclair! A gathering and dance on St. Patrick's Day, Tuesday, March 17,  6-9 p.m. Brice Sinclair on keyboard and background vocals, Sean Cash bass and lead vocals, Cody Tibbetts on drums and background vocals, Eric Robitaille on guitar and background vocals. The Onceover Band based out of Brooks. Some original rock songs written by Cody and Sea., and cover tunes. Good dancing music. They are inviting you there.

Birthday

A very happy birthday to Bo Mishou on March 17! May you have a great year.

Spring is here

Yes, Happy first day of spring on March 20! Just what I have been waiting for, marking off each day toward spring. Hope all are well. If not, get well soon.

Cancellations

Many things have been canceled, sporting events, colleges, and events where there is a gathering of many folks. Some college students are disappointed as they had hands-on classes, and how to do that online is beyond me. Good luck to those involved. Hopefully they get busy and get a vaccine for this horrible coronavirus, as I understand it takes time to develop. But, what do I know.

Census 2020

I was told the census form was going to be a short form, well I got an eight-page form in the mail. Really? Unreal to say the least.

Town meeting

March 21st, Saturday, 10 a.m., and voting for third selectman on Friday, March 20, 4-8 p.m.

Maple syrup weekend

Kinney's Sugarhouse on March 21 and 22, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Abbott Road.

Until next week,

Stay safe, and be warm. Good luck finding toilet paper as I hear it is a precious commodity. It is just crazy.
