Hello All,

We are all trying to stay safe and at home a lot to avoid the new coronavirus that has everyone on alert. It is almost impossible to get certain items at our local stores. I wonder why, but toilet paper is the most scarce product I see. It is a mystery for sure. Hearing that if you do get the virus, one thing mentioned, Tylenol is best. I have read so much I don't know anymore what is actually best. Be aware. Just take less trips out in public, stay home, wash your hands. Give others a space away from you. We are all in this together, so be safe as possible everyone.

It was sad to get a message that George Merry of Havasu, Arizona, had passed away on his 93rd birthday, March 20. He was a longtime teacher in our school years, Freedom Academy, Unity-Freedom and even at Mount View. He was my homeroom teacher at Freedom Academy when I first met him. Everyone I knew loved Mr. Merry. He attended the Freedom Academy alumni reunions when he could. He will be missed by many of us.

Another loss

Alden Andrews, 35, of Liberty passed away several days after his horrible hit-and-run accident. A young man gone to soon, leaving behind his family, son and girlfriend. Enjoy each day as tomorrow is never promised.

Our RSU 3 schools

The schools are closed here until April 27 at least. The nutrition program at Mount View is sending breakfast and lunches by our buses and vans to the students on their bus routes. Just call the school at 568-4607, Tina Fabian, and get on the list for free meals for all children 18 and younger. On Friday about 4,000 meals were delivered. Thanks to all involved with this project. It is nice to know the kids still get their meals.

Our town meeting has been postponed. Many things have been cancelled or postponed. It is for our health. Maine Maple Syrup weekend is postponed. Not much to report this week. My sister and I did get to the Freedom Congregational breakfast on Saturday. It was delicious. Thanks, guys of the church, for cooking and serving. Just right, only a few when we were there.

Open Door Lunch

Every Thursday drive-thru lunch, 11 a.m.-noon, at Unity Community Center. Thanks to all that helped for the lunch.

First day of spring

My calendar was printed as March 20th First Day then I saw and heard March 19th. Well, whenever it is or was, I am glad it is spring. Even the rain was welcome. Let's hope not much more snow will fall here. The family went to St. Agatha to snowmobile recently, nine sleds involved for the last trip of the year. Sara and Jacie recently visited; Sara spent the night here.

A joke

To go to the grocery store, they said a mask and gloves were enough...they lied...everybody else had clothes on!

An idea

Some things contagious are OK to spread, like kindness and smiles. Be kind!

Get well

A speedy get well to Charlie Picard as he gets better from his surgery. He is with daughter Patti and family.

Until next week,

I don't know what will be going on as everyone is trying to stay home and nothing much going on. Thanks to all those that do have to go to work and cannot stay home. Most appreciated. Stay warm, everyone, and be safe.
