Hello All,

It is finally starting to look like spring, leaves coming out, green grass, spring flowers peeking out, and warmer. Then the weather report of more snow. No, that is not what I wanted to hear now. Hopefully up North and western mountains, I'm all set. Time for fiddleheads and dandelions.

Happy birthday on May 14 to Katie Doughty! May you have many more. We all love you.

Ridgetop Diner and Dairy Bar is open Wednesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mother's Day only was tailgate breakfast. Lobster rolls, too. 568-3696, Takeout, call your order in.

And also

Ralph' s Cafe is Open Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 722-3236 at 9 a.m. to order for takeout. Lots of homemade bakery goodies, too.

Green Thumb Garden Center

Main Street, Unity, hanging baskets and six-packs. Open seven days, 12 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Unemployment connect problems

People are having a heard time to navigate the phone system and online setup to sign up. This is rather sad to hear, as some people have no income coming in now our state is pretty much shut down for everything. A couple of phone numbers I got were 621-5100, 621-5120, tax reps. available, Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the Career Center, 1-888-457-8883, press 2. I never tried these as I don't have to sign up, so good luck.

Gabe, Reese, Sara, Katie and David showed up here. A turkey was cooked up with Worcestershire sauce, Zach style, yum. Couldn't visit the usual pizza shop. Seemed good to have some of them recently work in my yard.

No news

Since there is no news, it is hard to find anything to pass on. Just know that the U.A.R. Recycling Center reopens on Tuesday, May 12, Tuesday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. In our town the truck will come by for curbside recyclables on the last Friday of each month. Put out with trash, and it will be picked up. This was good news. There will be no help from the staff.

Until next week,

Stay safe, and be warm. Garden season will be coming along soon. I see New Beat Farm is planting a lot. And the greenhouses are filling up. Always a good spring sign, and Ken is exercising his horses going by here.
