Hello All,

There is not much for news. It is pretty much bare ground, as the rain took all the snow. A light dusting didn't prove to be much. Icy in spots in the yard. It is cold, 27 as I type.

The Doughty family is out working to get the brush out of the trails. They can always use help, so you know, if you want to ride as well. Be nice to help pitch in you young, healthy people. They have the Frye Mountain Snowriders and ATV Club here now.

Sympathy

Phillip Hamlin has passed away. He grew up in Thorndike. As his sister Joan Hamlin-Chapin said, "He was Maine's best cabinet maker. He did cabinet work at the State House, especially in the cafeteria. He was very talented." May he rest in peace.

Doreen Philbrook has passed away, wife of Lance. He has the Lance's Garage off the end of our Morse Road, off 220. I remember her being the bookkeeper there. She will be sadly missed. Loring Peavey has passed on as well.

Two classmates

Leona Howe Ohlert of Florida has passed away, class of 1960. She grew up in Troy. Diana Briggs Lee has passed away. She lived in Freedom growing up. She was class of 1959. May they rest in peace.

Anniversaries

Happy 25th anniversary to Lee and MaryAnne Kinney! Happy 47th anniversary to Brian and Lynn Warman!

New Year's resolutions

I didn't make any. Why bother, I say. That way none to break and not have to feel bad by doing so. My solution to that. May you all have a very healthy and prosperous New Year. I survived and stayed up to watch the ball drop on TV. Saw England celebrate their New Year! I heard fireworks above me someplace.

Watched Bob Marley comedy hour show on my laptop. He had to post the link public, as the ticket site or whatever it was crashed. He is crazy funny. We need all the laughs we can get after this 2020 year.

Birthday

Happy belated birthday to Roger Drew, my nephew, Dec. 31 in Virginia. Also to Rob Doughty same day! May they have many more.

Fires

Was sad to read of the Unity Methodist Church fire. And the Turner Court mobile home fire.

Calendars

The Montville Historical Society has its 2021 Calendars ready for sale. Contact Barbara Boulay for info, 589-4414. Each $10. They always have interesting pictures and info about them.

Help needed

Hope For Homeless in Bangor is always looking for a little help. They are nonprofit status now. Ann hopes for coffee, and snacks, soups or chowders for the warming room folks. They have no bed and need a place to get warm from being outside. A few dollars helps. Not so long ago my nephew died from being homeless, so I understand the need.

Until next week,

All I can say is be safe, try to avoid the coronavirus, and be warm.
