Hello all! Since I felt up to it, I decided to write a little today. I am having my major surgery March 3 and need all the prayers I can get.

I received cards, letters, messages and phone calls, it was most appreciated. Thanks! I know many look forward to my column.

Winter fun

The New England Runner Sled Races are not going to be held in Montville on Hogback Mountain this year. They will be held in Auburn at Lost Valley Ski Area at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20.

The lift will still be running. The bar is open and restaurant is serving. Sounds like a good day!

Racing will be under the lights. We will soon find out who the champion of the fastest runner sled races in the land is.

Good luck to neighbor Kerry Merrifield. G.W. Martin is the one that promotes this fun event, as he started this.

Riley's wish

On Feb. 20, the fourth annual Ice Fishing Derby and Winter Games will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Liberty Boat Launch.

Raffle tickets, sweatshirt sales, food and drink to raise money for his memorial scholarship. All proceeds go to the Scholarship Fund.

See Tammy Reynolds for raffle tickets. Have fun to all!

Congrats, newborn!

Congratulations to BreAnne Rich and Johnny Ingraham on your newborn son, Grayson Douglas Ingraham, who was born at 5:04 a.m. Feb, 2, 2021.

He weighed at seven pounds and 15 ounces, and 22 inches. He had lots of dark hair and was born at Maine General Medical Center. Congrats to the families of this lil' feller!

Winter weather

Since I have been inside often and only outside twice, I am fortunate to not have to go out in the cold. It seems good to just sit and look out the big window upstairs.

I even had to move the little poodle, Daisy, out of the chair and use it to write this column. She is in the other recliner looking at me as if to say, "Gram, you have a lot of nerve to use my chair I sit in, waiting for everyone to come home." She is just the sweetest, and Teddy is downstairs by the fireplace stove, soaking up the heat.

These two little poodles keep us entertained. Yep, found a dog bone in my bed. Ha! The life of a dog.

Unity ice oval races

The family was at the races and had fun. Sara raced, as well as David. Both had fun and enjoyed the day.

Wayne was the flagman and Frankie helped flag to. This is a lot of work, so thanks to Darren Doughty and the crew for this fun. They are racing again Feb. 20, under the lights I was told.

Birthday wishes

Happy birthday Lin on Feb. 19! And also happy birthday Sara, on Feb. 20!

Hello guys

Hi to Lin, Danny and Joel and any others that read my column there.

Until next week, be warm, be safe and most of all, be kind. Thanks for reading.
