Hello Folks

We have survived this cold period and seem to be doing okay. Trying to keep warm has been our priority. Gosh the heating fuel seems to just disappear quickly, the wood pile goes down very fast, and it seems like you have to call for more quite often. I, for one don't like to wish the days away, but I'm ready for spring to get here. This cold weather has done a number on us. We think we have a heat wave when the temperature reaches 20.  Somethings wrong with that picture.

Warm Waldo

I have heard that the heating fuel program has gifted 45 families with assistance this year. Thanks Tanya Hubbard, a job well done. This is help with heating one's home to get them through a rough time. All donations are used 100 % for fuel. If, you are able please donate for this. Thanks !!!

I just knew it was only a matter of time before the flock of 11 wild turkeys would come on down to the front yard from up back. I don't feed them, they seem to be doing ok on there own. I was in hopes they would not drift this way. They make such a mess. Hopefully soon we get more snow, and they stay up back in the field, and by the apple tree.

Tena's Book

There has been a lot of interest in Tena Keller's recently published book. Tales of her home life and her teaching adventures. Some were serious, and some funny. If you get the opportunity, purchase her book. It has some good reading. All money raised goes to Warm Waldo or Garry Owen House. You can find the book locally.

Book Authors

John Ford, Sr., Our Famous Retired Game Warden, and Mark Nickerson, Retired State Trooper are still running all over the State giving talks and promoting their books. Find them on Facebook for their schedule. They will personally autograph the book for you.

Until Next week,

I finally got this column typed up after the third time. I really do not know where my column goes when I am trying to submit it. I hope everyone stays warm, Spring can't come fast enough for me. I did not attend the Open Door Lunch. Some folks went. I don't like to get out as there is still flu bugs going around. The little Girl Scouts have been selling cookies. I got some for the kids. Have a great week.
