Hello All,

Well this week really flew right by. I was busy and guess the time seemed to fly by., cannot believe it is Sunday already. The plants are still looking okay in my yard, and the tomatoes are coming along, but no ripe one's yet. Better than last year's, these are looking good. Last year the botton of all were rotted away, crazy why they did that on the vine. My cuke's are still good. My pepper plants did not do anything hidden in the cucumber vine's, oh well. My flowers in front still seem to be okay as well. I dread the maple leaves are turning red already. Where did Summer go anyway..

Our sincere condolences to Kay Tozier and Family on the recent passing of Kenneth "Babe "Tozier August 9th at Togus. He will be missed, and as several folks have called him the Mayor of Unity. He would love that. Rest In Peace, Babe.

Monday Visit

On Monday I met friends, Katherine and Philip Gaudet of Mattapoisett, Mass. for lunch at Ridgetop Restaurant.  They were in Maine for a visit with Family. We discussed several photos and items, relating to her Grandparents, the Maurice Roberts Family that once lived in Maine. They owned the Roberts Store at Knox Stream. She has given me several photo's for our Historical Calendar in the past.

Wednesday Adventure

I went with a cousin, Gene Ketchen to Young's Lobster Pound for a Lobster Feed, clams, and more. We also went up Mt. Battie to look out over Camden and see all the other Islands as well. A pretty sight on a nice sunny day.

A cousin, Carol Walker Gerrish passed away on Aug. 6th. She was the daughter of Cecil and Edith Walker. She is missed. Sympathy to her Family.

BBQ And Sale

The American Legion and Auxiliary in Unity wish to thank all who supported the Chicken BBQ the Legion had on Sunday, and the Yard Sale the Ladies had. It was appreciated by all. The Ladies did a lot of work getting this ready, and special thanks to Sue and Debra for all your work. A successful day. Jeffrey Stevenson Dept. of Maine Legion Historian showed up from Bath.

Varney Building Brooks

The Brooks Congregational Church will hold a Fish Chowder Public Supper on Aug. 25th at 5 PM. Everyone Welcome.

Knox Station Grange Supper

The Supper for this month is Aug. 19th Saturday at 4:30 PM-6 PM. It is Roast Beef with All the Fixings. Come get some of Aggie's great cooking.

Freedom Academy and Unity-Freedom

Yes, it is the Annual Class Reunion of the Alumni on SUNDAY...August 20th at Mount View HS Cafe. Starting at 9:30 AM. You still have time to get registered, or just show up at the door. Hope to see many this year. We will be honoring Joe and Bea Bryant. They certainly deserve the honor, both graduates of FA. They both are still active in their business in Thorndike, Bryant's Stoves and Music Museum. It is a great place to get a Tour.

Until next week,
Not much news this week. Take care all, and soon School will be opening again. The Summer has sure been a fast one. The weather has changed some, and been cool nights. Enjoy the nice days. We do need rain. Congrats to Jesse Gibbs for all of his weight loss. I am sure proud of you, and to think you swim around Sanborn Pond all the time now that is amazing. Go Jesse !!!
