Hello to All,

Another week folks, and here we are. Getting lots of pretty leaves out there in our area. The rain today helped I am sure, been awful dry. I know it is surely Fall when I see the farmers cutting their cattle corn, and hauling it in town. Time does not stand still. Folks are excited for the moose hunt, as Damien Doughty got a permit, and heading to the Allagash.Good luck to all.

Under The Lights..Larrabee Field

Yes, the Mount View JV and Varsity Soccer will be on Wed., Oct 11th JV at 5:30 PM and Varsity at 7 PM. They are currently in first place in the standings. What a great thing to hear. Good Luck guys !! Senior Game under the lights is a big thing. Concession Open. Games 5:30-9 PM Come wearing your green and white..Go Mustangs !!!

Looking for Coats, and Warm Blankets

Waldo County Triad is asking for help with donations of coats, and Winter clothing, plus Blankets. There is a box at the Community Center in Unity on School Street for this. Until Nov. 13th.

Town Office News

Absentee Ballots are now available for the Referendum Election to be held on Nov. 7, 2017. 2 Citizen Initiatives questions, Bond Issue question, and Constitional Amendment question.

Freedom Grange

They will soon be having the PIE Sale, look for it at the Grange Hall. Taking orders. Next month Nov. 18th.

Open Dates

Ellie's Serendipity Shop is open W-T-F-Sat. 10-4 through Christmas.

Good Steward Shop

Open only on Saturdays now. Please Donate nice useful household Items, and clothing. No junk. They have to pay for your trash disposal you leave behind. THANKS !!

Kayden Doughty turned 14 on Oct. 2nd. I forgot him again. Will McKenney turned 12 the same day. Happy Birthday boy's !!!

Knox Grange Supper

Oct. 21st 4:30-6 PM at the Grange Hall. I still do not have the Menu, but know whatever it is will be delicious. This will be the last Supper of the series. Come join in.

Fryeburg Fair

The Fair is on and the Kinney's are there. Maple Syrup products., and much more they have.

New Beat Farm

The Pressed for Cider event was a huge hit, fresh cider, yummy. The Harvest Celebration saw folks having rides with the horses and wagon. I never made it in time. Call 333-7583 for an appointment for getting Apples pressed for cider. They Thank you all for coming by.

Next Rabies Clinic

Saturday, Oct. 7th 9-11 AM at Brooks Fire Station..get there early. Next in line is Troy Town Office Oct. 18th 9-11. Notice change of date. Waldo County residents are free.

Upcoming

Austin Grant Memorial Hunter's Breakfast coming soon in Thorndike at the Town Office Building. Lori is busy getting Raffle Items, and sponsor's for the Shirts, and clothing. Oct. 28th.

Halloween Family Party

On  Sunday, Oct. 22nd 6 PM at the Freedom Town Office. Games, Prizes, Crafts, Food, and Fun for the whole Family.

Benefit Supper

For the Hall's, Ashley was killed in an auto accident recently. Oct.13th 6 PM at Taratine Tribe # 13.

Is Open on the Weekend, Oct. 7-8 and 9 th. 10-6, Closing on the 9th, Monday.

Cindy's Yard Sale and Jackson Food Pantry Yard Sale

On Rt. 7, look for her sign in Jackson. She has lot's of goodies, and has items for sale to benefit the food pantry. Cindy Abbott is there with here Jewelry. She is donating to the Pantry. Look for the Ludden Homestead. Lots's of goodies, Christmas things. Makes nice gifts.

Well, I feel sad the leaves are changing as I know what comes next. Trying to get the house ready for the long Winter. I am sure many are as well. It is Apple Pie time. The Squash have been real good, and other fresh veggies. Visit one of the Farm Stands that are still available. Take care all, and have a super week.
