KNOX TOWN NEWS

By Rita Doughty | Nov 03, 2017

Hello to all finally,

The power has been off for several days. Some people do not have their power back yet. At least the weather is not so bad as it would have been this winter. We will survive.

I had no internet so here goes finally.

From the Town Office..

2018 Dog Licenses are available at the town office at this time. A current rabies certificate is required to register your dog. The Town Office may have one on file for your dog. Dogs must be licensed by 12-31-17. The fee is $6.00 for altered, and $11.00 otherwise.

Last week's Mistake..People to People

I called to get info, and was told that they are calling people..If you are new to this, please call yourself. They would not know who you are, I believe I am correct. Good luck. Get Well

Here's Wishing Sheldon " Tinker " Carmichael a speedy revovery. May you be well soon. Thinking of you and family.

Daylight Savings Time

Yep, it ends the 4th of Nov. so turns those clocks back an hour. So Sunday the 5th you will be all set. I hear some people do not like to change.

Halloween

For the first time ever no kids came to trick or treat. Well, all the more candy I will have to eat I guess. There were several trick or trunk events so that helped I imagine. And with no power, houses were dark, as was mine.Candles do not exactly light up your home.

Lori's Raffle and Hunters Breakfast..Austin Grant Memorial

A big crowd came to eat Breakfast and get Raffle Tickets. Lori thanks one and all for the support. Now, two deserving people will be able to take driver's Ed, as she has enough support. She is also donating to the Thorndike Fire Dept. for there project. Job well done Lori, and crew

Until next week,

I hope everyone get's Power back, and is able to get the trees, limbs and all taken care of. What a mess, tree's down everywhere, limbs on houses and trees too. A lot of damage with poles snapped off, tree's broken and in the wires, transformers down. Hearing a half million people with no power in the State. A big thanks to the CMP crews, and other's in from out of State, (14) States  and 2 provinces from Canada to help restore power. It was a mess for sure. Take care all. Be safe. If this had to happen at least it was not in the dead of Winter.

Some hunters have bagged a deer. Be safe out there hunting. I wear orange in the woods this time of year, just to take a walk.
