KNOX TOWN NEWS

By Rita Doughty | Nov 24, 2017

Hello All,

Well, just after Thanksgiving, and I hope you all had a nice time, and enjoyed the day. I had supper with Bob and Ann, and their friend. Will be going to my son's this weekend at some time..Wayne, Laura and kids in Winslow to eat with them.

Holiday's are not the same without my parents in it anymore. Surely missing them both. So many others telling me the same thing, but life goes on.

On Friday, Dec. 1st at 6 PM Santa will be making his arrival at the Town Office. There will be a bonfire, refreshments, sleigh or wagon rides, depending on any snow for a sleigh. Pictures with Santa and Mrs. Bring the kiddos on out. Always a good time sponsored by the Knox Booster Club.

What a nice idea he had, so proud of this young man.

Most Valuable Coach

US Cellular had a contest for the most valuable coach in the nation. Luis Ayala of Foxcroft Academy was nominated and many of us were voting for him through facebook.  We voted daily for it seemed like eternity, haha !! He won $5,000. Award as a popular soccer and wrestling coach, putting him in the top 15 coaches.  After all was said and done by the judge's...yes, ..He recently won the Award for the Nation's Most Valuable Coach $50,000. for his athletics program. On Monday US Cellular will be presenting the check at FA in Dover Foxcroft. On Jan. 4th he will be honored in Florida at the US All America game in Orlando, Fla. He is one fine wrestling coach evidenced with all the support of his students, former students, his army friends, and all of his Community and beyond that has supported him. A very deserving time for the Ayala's. His wife Angela I met on facebook through my granddaughter Sara. What an honor to the Ayala Family this is. Congrats to ALL !!!

Birthday time

Yes, my birthday is Dec. 1st. The time flies when you are having fun. Take care all, and a Happy Birthday to anyone else too.

Until next week,

Get out and attend some of these fundraiser's or even to see old and make new friends. Stay safe, and warm. Hunting season is going on so beware in the woods. Many hunter's have tagged out, and more are still looking for that big elusive buck. Pay it forward and help out a stranger.
