News from the Town Office:

Voting for Town Meeting Moderator will be Friday, March 16th at 3:45 PM, followed by voting for 2nd selectman, Lucas Bryant running unopposed, and school board director, Garret Hubbard and John Wentworth both running for this position, at 4-8 PM.

Town Meeting is Saturday March 17th at 10 AM. Town Reports are available at the Town Office.

Selectmen's meetings will begin at 6 PM starting on March 13th.All welcome to attend. Info 568-3907.


For those interested the Memorial Services for Albert Jackson will be held at Morrill Baptist Church on Sat., March 24th at 11 AM. He is missed. He and my Dad were the best of friends. All those stories I heard.

Waldo Wood Shed

The 2nd Annual fundraiser for the Wood Shed is Sunday, March 11th 1-3 pm at Threshers Brewing Co., in Searsmont. hosted by Erin Herbig.Family friendly pig roast with sides, and much more happening. They want to get busy on wood for next season, so therefore the funds needed.

Job Fair

On Tuesday, March 20th, 9-2 the Belfast Regional Job Fair ( with 50 employers ) will be held at the Hutchinson Center. Exciting career opportunities.

Pancake Breakfast

At Freedom Grange on March 25th 7:30-10:30 AM Plain or blueberry pancakes with Maple Syrup, Sausage, Home fries, OJ and coffee. $6.00 Come and have a good breakfast and help support the local Grange.

The Maple Syrup Saturday and Sunday events at Beaver Ridge Plantation, March 24 and 25th 9-4, and also Maple Syrup Weekend at Kinney's Sugarhouse on the 24th and 25th. No time listed on their site yet. Let's go, Lee. I know you are very busy.

For the kids

Freedom Rec will be having their Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, March 25th 2-4 PM.  Activities for the kids. Have a pic taken with Peter Rabbit. No charge. Bring your kiddos to have some fun.

I hope everyone got dug out from this last storm, on Thursday, or are on Friday, as the sun is shining bright, and it is melting out there. Get well to those needing this. There is always someone worse off than you I do believe this. Take care, be safe and stay warm. Spring is coming I am sure. March 20th is the first day of Spring. March 11th daylight saving time begins. Gas at the local pump was $2.68.
