Hello All,

It is sunny as I type this up, and looks nice outside. The dandelions are ready, I just did not look in the right place to find any. Got to get busy. I hope all are enjoying these better days we have now. The rain is gone for now, but we had wind, and rain last night. The bright sunshine makes up for that.

Job Opening at the Town Office

The position is open for a Tax Collector and Town Clerk, contact Town Office 568-3907 by Tuesday May 8th at 6 PM.

Sympathy

Our Sympathy to these families of Matthew Golembesky, Terry Merrifield, and Maurice Pooler, who have recently passed away. Thinking of you at this time.

Celebration of Life

A gathering in Memory of  Wilma Stewart "Wink "will be held at the Benjamin Berry Legion Post 50 in Unity on May 12th at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, please if you wish to donate the family asks to the ALA Unit 50. Thanks. Info contact Linda.

Installation at Post 50

The ALA Unit 50 and Legion will hold the annual May Installation at the Post Home on May 11th at 6 PM, supper followed by joint Installation. PDP Veronica Gurney will be installing the Auxiliary.

Off to Las Vegas, Nevada, DSU Arenacross

The Wren Family, and Jacie are off to the National races in Las Vegas. Ryder Wren has races on Friday, he placed 9th by the way. He wanted to finish in top 10, and for an 8 yr. old did fantastic. He races again on Sunday. He thanks all of you who supported him and made this possible. His brother Cooper won the "Brain freeze" contest for slurping down a slushy, in the fastest time. He won a t-shirt among other prizes. Those two Maine boys are a hoot. They had a great trip out there, and safe travels to get home. Making the best kind of memories ever.

Chicken BBQ Saturday

The Pleasant Hill Cemetery Assoc.  members are having a Public Chicken BBQ on May 19th 11:30-1 PM at Freedom Cong. Church. Quilt Raffle, Silent Auction with the BBQ.

On Sunday May 20th is the Hike the Hill BBQ at Freedom Fire Dept.

On Friday May 4th an Induction Ceremony, National Honor Society was held at the High School, Sara Doughty and her friend Maeghan Bernard were among those honored. Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Character, that is our girls.

Jamboree

Bob and BJ's Jamboree was held on Thursday evening with around 50 attending at the Unity School Elementary Gym. Music and singing. I even won the 50/50.

Out-Ah The Box

The hours are 9-6, and starting in June, 7 days a week. They now accept debit, credit, and EBT/SNAP cards for your convenience. They have discounted groceries, cleaning supplies, and many more items. Saving you some money. on 137 in Waldo.

Benefit Supper at the Taratine Building

A Public Spaghetti Supper for Pamela Flanders will be held on June 8th 4:30-7 PM ( She has stage 4 cancer) Raffle for Gift Certificates and Products is being planned. Info her sister Barb Kenney at 323-4389, or to mail donations 967 Atlantic Highway Northport, Me. 04849.

Dept. American Legion and Auxiliary

A testimonial for our Dept. Commander, President, and SAL Commander will be held at Post 1 Rockland on May 19th. Contact Dept. Headquarters for ticket info.

Much Sympathy to my Auxiliary sister, Arline Flood who recently lost her husband Ralph.
