Troy, N.Y. — Erik Larrabee of Brooks earned his first career hole-in-one Thursday, Aug. 21 during tryouts for the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute golf team.

Larrabee, a former standout student-athlete at Mount View High School in Thorndike, recorded his first ace on the 141-yard, par-3 15th hole using a 9-iron at the Country Club of Troy.

Interestingly, among the witnesses for the ace was Jamie Jackson of Belfast, a former standout Lion all-around athlete.

Also playing with the Waldo County tandem were Andrew Gavin and Ben Robinson, RPI team members.

Larrabee is a freshman at RPI and a long-time member of the Country View Golf Club in Brooks.
