March offers many Adult Ed options at MCST

• ‘Plumbing Basics’ tackles common plumbing problems, what methods, tools and supplies to use for simple repairs, a plan for preventative maintenance, and when to call a professional. Great instruction!  Mike Kee teaches for 5 Tuesdays, starting March 13th, from 6-8pm.

• ‘Medicare 101’ helps clarify the mysteries of the Medicare enrollment system. Be able to make enlightened decisions about the best fit for your Medicare registration. Brooke Jansen presents this free one-night class on Wed., March 14th from 5:30-7:00pm. Registration is required to attend.

• Enroll in this one-night class: ‘Small Business Basics’. Rebecca Barrett & Scott Masterson explain types of business ownership and how to anticipate the many layers of financial responsibility. With takeaway info, chocolates & priced right, Thurs., March 15th from 6-8.

• ‘Cooking with Sea Vegetables’ introduces the culinary opportunities of our local sea plants. Kara Ibarguen from Maine Coast Sea Vegetables provides plant characteristics, prepping tips, product, recipes and groceries to prepare a hearty lunch enhanced with sea vegetables. One day: Saturday, March 17th from 10am to 1pm.

• ‘American Red Cross CPR/1st Aid/AED training and certification’ is available on Saturday, March 17th from 9am to 3pm. This training and certification covers handling adult and youth (over 12), recognizing and providing care for sudden injury or illness until EMS arrive. This is presented by Maine Safety Education.

• ‘Computer Essentials – Advanced’ is for students with some experience using Word and Excel spreadsheets. Use those programs to merge documents, create reports and presentations, follow current expectations in email etiquette, file management and file sharing. Expand your value in the marketplace!  Mondays for 4 weeks from 5:30-8pm, starting March 19th.

• ‘Excel 2016 – Basics’ course teaches the setup and use of spreadsheets, formatting and formulas, all commonly used in office settings. Haven’t used Excel in years? Come get a refresher on the most current system. Five Wednesdays from 6-8:30pm, starting March 21st.
