Last First Friday of the year

Neal Parent As part of Belfast’s last art walk of the year Friday, Dec. 7, Parent Gallery will show new black and white silver images by Neal Parent,  new pastels by Joanne Parent, pen and ink drawings by David Johnson, new digital images by Georges Nashan and Peg Bair, woodcarvings by Gordon Bok, new sculptures by Keith Maynard and jewelry by Dan Bennett. Fun and refreshments are promised.

Belfast — The last First Friday Art Walk of the season is set for Dec. 7 with about 20 galleries, studios and other art venues participating. Art enthusiasts and holiday shoppers will find a Santa’s Sack worth of photography, paintings, mixed media art, sculpture and fine art jewelry around every corner of downtown Belfast beginning 5:30 p.m. and winding down around 8 p.m.

Galleries and artist studios offering holiday refreshments with art openings include High Street Studio & Gallery, Maine Farmland Trust Gallery, Betts Gallery, Art Alliance Gallery (AAG), Susan Cooney Fine Art Studio, Raven’s Nest Gallery, Daniel Anselmi’s 75 Main Street Studio, Brambles, Image Box Studio, Dina Petrillo at The Post Office Studio Workshop, Åarhus Gallery, Ben Hall Studio, Belfast Co-op Café, The Office Gallery, Marc Leavitt Studio, Beyond the Sea, Parent Gallery, Northern Lights Gallery, Lauren Veale Jewelry Studio and Galerie Dufour.

On the street, Penobscot Bay Singers will fill the air with festive Christmas carols. Belfast Arts encourages everyone to consider supporting the local economy this holiday season while enjoying events in the city’s vibrant downtown. First Friday Art Walks will resume in May.
