Belfast — Cornerspring Montessori School's annual Spring Fling benefit auction and party Saturday, April 27, will feature Waldo County's own Leaky Boot Jug Band with its repertoire of Americana and original tunes.

Recently voted Waldo County’s Best of the Best for the third year in a row, Leaky Boot Jug Band will help raise tuition assistance funds that aid local families in accessing a Montessori education for their children.

Spring Fling takes place at United Farmers' Market, 18 Spring St., from 6 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance, available at the school or online, or $25 at the door.

Cornerspring parent and fundraising committee member Mareisa Weil is one of the parents assisted by the program Spring Fling benefits. “I’m so grateful for the help we get from Cornerspring’s tuition assistance program,” she said. “Our twins are 3 1/2, and we really wanted Montessori for their early education, but with our limited means it’s a big stretch. Tuition assistance helps make it possible for us, and our boys are thriving at Cornerspring.”

Event sponsors include the venue host, United Farmers’ Market; Sundog Solar; Belfast Dental Care; Total Property Care; Little River Veterinary Hospital; and Worth Real Estate. Sponsors are recognized for their generosity online and in print, at the event, and their contributions are entirely tax-deductible.

“...Two of our employees send their children to Cornerspring,” said Chuck Piper of Sundog Solar, whose daughter, Lindsey, also attends Cornerspring, and his wife Teresa has been an educator for over 30 years. “We are honored to be in a position to help make this education more accessible for our Waldo County friends and neighbors.”
