LIBERTY — Liberty Graphics T-shirts has announced the winner of their 22nd annual art contest titled "Art and our Natural Environment." This $1,000 Scholarship Art Contest is open to all Maine high school seniors. Sophie Herdrich of Falmouth was the winner this year, submitting a stunning acrylic painting featuring Atlantic puffins.

Herdrich and her multi-talented family moved to Maine in 2011. She has been creating art her whole life, and is already successfully creating and marketing her murals and photography. Her other passions include exploring Peaks Island, singing, surfing, building collage postcards that become large story-telling paintings, painting portraits in a variety of art styles, and painting watercolors of beautiful Maine scenes.

Herdrich will attend the STAMPS School of Art and Design at The University of Michigan in the fall, studying art, marketing and business. Travel, networking with other creatives and adventures will undoubtedly inform her future work, and transform her as well, continuing to echo her love of the beauty of Maine.

Liberty Graphics wishes her much success, and hopes this $1,000 check will help support her many continuing artistic endeavors.
