Belfast — On Thursday, Dec. 3, at 6:30 p.m., the Belfast Free Library hosts a virtual book launch and poetry reading with the poets from Poetry Woodshed. The program will be on Zoom, please register in advance by following the link at belfastlibrary.org/virtual-programs.

“wood” is the first anthology from the Belfast writing group Poetry Woodshed. Woodshed was founded by former Belfast Poet Laureate Ellen Sander and Joel Lipman, the first Poet Laureate of Lucas County, Ohio. The group has been meeting in Belfast since the summer of 2015. The mission of Woodshed is to advance works in progress and the collaborative critiques of the weekly meetings have informed and conjoined the poetry in “wood.”

The poets of “wood” are: Avery Booth Stone, DiTa, Matthew Eichenlaub, Jacob Fricke, Rebecca Jessup, Margie Kivel, Joel Lipman, Catherine Neuhardt-Minor, Susan Reeder Taylor, Ellen Sander, and Lourdes Tutaine-Garcia.

At this launch event selected works from “wood” will be read along with comments about and recollections of the writing group experience.
