Library launches annual appeal

Oct 19, 2019

Belfast — According to journalist Caitlin Moran, “A library in the middle of a community is a cross between an emergency exit, a life raft and a festival.” To maintain that community resource here, the Belfast Free Library is kicking off its annual appeal.

This yearly fundraising effort helps keep the library’s resources and programs accessible for children, families, adults and seniors. The library depends upon support from individuals because city funds cannot support everything the library does to enrich and delight the community.

Residents can support the library's free, accessible services by replying to the appeal letter sent to homes or by mailing or dropping off a donation to the Belfast Free Library, 106 High St., Belfast, Maine 04915. Donations also may be made at belfastlibrary.org.
