Library talk: Green school concept a reality in Bali

Belfast — The desire to raise a community of learners who want to make positive change in the world inspired the creation of a totally “green” K-12 school in Bali, Indonesia. On Thursday, July 18, Belfast Bay Watershed Coalition will sponsor a program at the Belfast Free Library, 106 High St., at 6:30 p.m. to showcase this example of what a school can do.
Kyle King, math teacher and head of the high school division, will be in Belfast visiting his parents, Anita and Tom King. Kyle will share the story of how they conceived, designed, and built the school, an international school where Kyle has been teaching for six years. His family lives in the community.
King directs the BioBus entrepreneurial program, an example of the solution-based learning that engages students at the Green School.
