Lighthouse as muse at Penobscot Marine

Searsport — Penobscot Marine Museum’s final Sources of Inspiration talk of the season is set for Thursday, Oct. 18, at 5:30 p.m. in the downtown museum’s Visitors Center, 2 Church St. Admission is $8, $5 for museum members.

Judy Chandler will share photos and stories about her family’s adventures and experience living in a lighthouse. Chandler’s grandparents ran the Blue Hill Bay Lighthouse, raising 12 children at the remote location accessible by foot only at low tide or by boat.

Penobscot Marine Museum’s 2018 exhibit “Sailing Small: Small Boats, Big Ideas” runs through Sunday, Oct. 21. Using objects, photographs and primary source audio, visual, and written accounts, the exhibit spotlights Maine model makers. For more information, call 548-2529.
