Belfast — The Belfast Free Library, 106 High St., will welcome singer/songwriter Alice Limoges Monday, July 23, at 3:30 p.m. for a songwriting workshop for teens as part of the Libraries Rock! summer reading program.

Participants will learn the basics of writing lyrics, chords and melody; and have the opportunity to perform what they’ve written at an open mic following the class. Limoges also will give a short performance of her own music.

Limoges grew up in Rockport and currently lives performs and teaches in New York City. For more information about her, visit alicelimoges.com. The workshop is recommended for age 11 and older and, as are all library programs, free and open to the public. For more information, call 338-3884, ext. 24.
