Lincolnville Library hosts talk on invasive plants Oct. 25

Lincolnville — The Lincolnville Community Library, at 208 Main St., will present Aleta McKeage and “How Invasive Plants Affect Our Environment,” Thursday, Oct. 25, at noon.

McKeage will discuss which invasive plants are present in our area and how to identify them, what new invasives to watch for and how to control these plants on our own properties and in our communities. Weather permitting, the program will include a brief walk around the library gardens and adjacent grounds.

McKeage is a conservation biologist who has completed projects for local, state and federal agencies as well as for Midcoast Maine landowners and nonprofits. She specializes in working to restore health and functionality to landscapes while building community.

The talk is co-sponsored by the Waldo County Soil and Water Conservation District.
