LINCOLNVILLE — Residents will be asked to authorize the Board of Selectmen to sell three tax-acquired properties on Rosenburg Road at a special town meeting Sept. 9.

The meeting takes place at the Town Office, 493 Hope Road, at 6 p.m.

The town acquired three properties on Rosenburg Road because of non-payment of taxes. The town's ownership was contested in a legal case in Waldo County Superior Court, which was settled Aug. 9. The determination of the court, in the Consent Final Judgment, is that lots 28, 29 and 31 in Tax Map 22 "are hereby declared to be owned by Defendant Inhabitants of the Town of Lincolnville."

The properties were once owned by Richard Rosenburg and Dawn Bragg, who are both deceased.

Lot 28 is .24 acres and Lot 31 is .11 acres. Both abut Levensaler Pond, but are separated by another lot that is privately owned. Lot 29 is about a tenth of an acre, and abuts Lot 31.
