Lions claw through Bulldogs for home course victory

Belfast's Ritter finishes as medalist

Northport — High school golf is in full swing and the Lions of Belfast continue to chip, putt and drive through the regular season.

The Lions, unbeaten in three matches, hosted Lawrence of Fairfield on Tuesday, Sept. 3 and swung to a 6-3 victory over the Bulldogs at Northport Golf Club.

The following is a recap of the match:

Belfast 6, Lawrence 3

At Northport Golf Club Sept. 3, the Lions doubled up the Bulldogs. Belfast finished with a four-golfer stroke total of 202 to 211 for Lawrence.

The individual results, with Belfast golfers listed first, were: Thomas Parker (48) halved with Jake Suttie (48); James Ritter (45) beat Alan Bourget (55), 3+1; Tommy Walker (52) beat Brody Bickford (66), 1-up; Zach Sanderson (60) lost to Corbin Kissinger (51), 2+1; Lilly Robbins (57) beat Gage Boudreau (58), 2+1; and Bobby Banks (69) halved with Jesse Dixon (67).

Ritter shot 45 to earn medalist honors.
