Lions, Mustangs swing into links campaigns

Parker medalist, Belfast starts course campaign 2-0, Mount View 0-2

Pittsfield — The high school golf season swung in for Mount View and Belfast on Wednesday, Aug 28 — on the same course no less — as the Mustangs and Lions hit the road to face each other and Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield in a tri-match at J.W. Parks Golf Course.

By day’s end, the Lions went 2-0, Huskies 1-1 and Mustangs 0-2 as Belfast’s four-golfer stroke total amounted to 194, MCI’s 240 and Mount View’s 258.

The following is a recap of the three matches:

Belfast 9, Mount View 0

At J.W. Parks Golf Course in Pittsfield Aug. 28, the Lions made it a clean sweep on the day as they blanked the Waldo County rival Mustangs. Belfast finished with a four-golfer stroke total of 194 to 258 for Mount View.

The top four individual scorers for Belfast were: Thomas Parker 39, Tommy Walker 48, James Ritter 49 and Lily Robbins 58.

The top four individual scorers for Mount View were: Miles Littlefield 58, Lucas Ford 62, John Clifford 67 and Caleb Raven 71.

Parker was the medalist.

Belfast 8, Maine Central Institute 1

At J.W. Parks Golf Course in Pittsfield Aug. 28, the Lions swung past the host Huskies. Belfast finished with a four-golfer stroke total of 194 to 240 for MCI.

The top four individual scorers for Belfast were: Thomas Parker 39, Tommy Walker 48, James Ritter 49 and Lily Robbins 58.

The top four individual scorers for MCI were: Owen Williams 47, Leah Dechain 63, Jackson Leonard 63 and Lauren Lancaster 67.

Parker was the medalist.

Maine Central Institute 6, Mount View 3

At J.W. Parks Golf Course in Pittsfield Aug. 28, the Huskies made it a split on the day as they prowled past the Mustangs. MCI finished with a four-golfer stroke total of 240 to 258 for Mount View.

The top four individual scorers for Mount View were: Miles Littlefield 58, Lucas Ford 62, John Clifford 67 and Caleb Raven 71.

The top four individual scorers for MCI were: Owen Williams 47, Leah Dechain 63, Jackson Leonard 63 and Lauren Lancaster 67.

Williams was the medalist.
