CAMDEN, ME, DECEMBER 31, 2020 – Press Release – Matthew Levin, Director of Hotels for the Bay View Collection, presented a check today to Tia Anderson, Executive Director of the Midcoast Habitat for Humanity. The donation of $500.00 is in support of the organization’s mission which is to work in cooperation with the vision and principles of Habitat for Humanity International, bringing people together to build hope, homes and community and end poverty housing in Knox County, Maine.

The donation was a result of Lord Camden Inn’s ongoing “Hospitality for Habitat” campaign. Guests who choose to participate receive a 50% discount off their two or more-night stay, and in exchange for this significantly discounted room rate, guests make a minimum donation of $35/night to Habitat for Humanity. This offer began in early October and will continue through April 30th, 2021.

Hospitality for Habitat is just one of several giving campaigns that the Bay View Collection is offering this fall and winter. At Grand Harbor Inn they are offering a similar discount to guests in support of Area Interfaith Outreach (AIO) Weekend Meal program, and at 16 Bay View, they are supporting LifeFlight of Maine with their “Lift Off for LifeFlight” special offer.

“I am so happy to see how much we raised in such a short period of time with our Hospitality for Habitat campaign,” says Matthew Levin. “With the devastating and ongoing impacts of COVID this year on the hospitality industry, and with so few people traveling, I have a renewed faith in people by the kind and giving nature of our guests who were willing and able to visit Camden and contribute to this worthwhile initiative”, Levin further stated.

“We are so grateful for this Hospitality for Habitat donation from the Lord Camden Inn and it’s guests. This campaign has offered tremendous support of our mission over the years. It is community dedication to our efforts that enables us to assist those in need by developing much needed affordable housing in our area”, said Anderson.

About Midcoast Habitat for Humanity

Midcoast Habitat for Humanity is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization operated on Christian principles that seeks to put God’s love into action by building homes, communities and hope. Midcoast Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating and preserving homes; by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions.  Habitat for Humanity was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, durable place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter in decent communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all. Midcoast Habitat for Humanity has an open-door policy: All who believe that everyone needs a decent, affordable place to live are welcome to help with the work, regardless of race, religion, age, gender, political views or any of the other distinctions that too often divide people.
