Maine Conservation Voters Action Fund announces endorsements

Augusta — Maine Conservation Voters Action Fund has announced its slate of endorsements for the November elections.

In a press release issued Sept. 7, MCV said, "Our endorsed candidates are local leaders who will stand up for conservation at the State House — on both sides of the aisle."

In Waldo County, MCV endorsed Erin Herbig of Belfast, Democratic candidate for Senate from District 11, and the following candidates for the Maine House: Independent Owen Casas of Rockport, District 94; Democrat Stanley Paige Zeigler of Montville, District 96; Democrat Jan Dodge of Belfast, District 97; and Republican MaryAnne Kinney of Knox, District 99.

MCV made no endorsements for the races in Districts 98 and 131.

Beth Ahearn, MCV political director, said, “We want to do everything we can to make conservation a political priority. MCV Action Fund’s endorsements help Maine voters determine which candidates will really work to protect our environment and climate future in Augusta.”
