Searsport — A local man was charged Sunday, Sept. 9, after police say he went to a residence to confront another male and ended up causing damage to a vehicle that was parked in the driveway.

Christopher Daley, 28, of Searsport was charged with criminal mischief following the incident, which Searsport Police Chief Dick LaHaye said took place on Loop Road Sunday morning.

Officers Eric Marcel and Stu Gillway responded to what was initially reported as a fight in progress at the residence, LaHaye said. After a brief investigation the officers learned Daley had gone to the home to confront the male resident because Daley was angry that the man was spending time with a mutual female acquaintance.

At one point, LaHaye said, Daley took his anger out on a vehicle that was parked in the dooryard.

"He used a two-by-four to break out the window of the vehicle," said LaHaye.

LaHaye said there may be further charges pending in connection with the incident, and the matter remains under investigation.
