Margaret Tower

Jun 04, 2018

Margaret “Peggy” Tower, entered into God’s Kingdom on June 1, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 14, 1957, the first daughter of eight children to Roland and Ruth (Carr) Yeaton. Peggy was born in Norridgewock but spent most of her life in Northport and Belfast after the family moved to the coast in the 1960s. Peggy worked locally all her life.

Always willing to lend an ear, she was confidant to many. Young and old, we would all seek her tremendous listening skills. Whether by phone or in person, there weren’t many days that someone didn’t benefit from her thoughtful wisdom and genuine, caring personality. If you needed her, no matter the time of day or circumstance, Peggy was someone you could count on to be there for you. She was a true friend to all who knew her and loved by so many.

She married her best friend, Ronald Tower, on Aug. 21, 1986. Their commitment, love and devotion for one another, stood the test of time. They battled her cancer together for three years. Peggy fought through it with Ron by her side every step of the way. Together they enjoyed a few more years together as a family.

Peggy’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted daughter, faithful sister, dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, and loyal friend. She rarely missed special moments of any niece or nephew, and when her first grandchild, Paige Elizabeth was born, it changed her life forever. She cherished every moment she shared with all her grandchildren and family, and it was for them she fought so hard to survive. And survive she did, 1,074 days after her diagnosis.

Peggy was pre-deceased by her parents; two brothers, Richard and Roland (Skip) Yeaton; nephew, Mike Fuller; and Aunt, Sr. Frances Carr.

She is survived by her husband Ronald; son Ronald Yeaton and his children Dawson and Brandon; daughter Stacey Sweetland (Elmer) and their children Paige and Ryan; siblings David (Susan) Yeaton, Fran (Jack) Riley, Roberta Fuller, Debra (Steve) Pendleton, and Robert (Ruth) Yeaton; nieces Traci Reynolds, Linda Rogers, Katie Blake, Ellie Roberts, Ashley and Chrystal Yeaton; nephews Roland Littlefield, Mike Yeaton, Chris and Shawn O’Brien, and Ben and Jason Pendleton. Friends are many and she thanks you all for being there to rally with prayers, positive thoughts and encouragement when she needed you most. Special friends Sherry Dulude, Pam Ripley, Cheryl Roberts, Kim Ginn, Kelly Roberts and Sissie Reynolds, thanks for your never-ending friendship.

Special thanks to WCGH Oncology, Dr. Connolly and everyone at Harbor Hill for your amazing care and love through Peggy’s journey. Without you, her wish for more time would not have been realized.

Visitation at Riposta’s Funeral Home is Thursday, June 7, at 1 p.m. with services officiated by Pastor Storm Gould at 2 p.m. A graveside service will immediately follow at Grove Cemetery.
