BELFAST — In mid-July, the Maine Writers & Publishers Alliance (MWPA) presents a seminar on marketing for writers led by marketing coach and former literary event coordinator Allison Pottern Hoch. The four-hour seminar will cover marketing at the publisher, bookstore, and individual levels to analyze how it can help published writers gain readership at any stage in their careers.

“Marketing for Writers” will teach attendees how to employ the same creative energies used in writing to market themselves. The class will explore topics such as press kits, social media, and events, as well as how to cultivate an audience and develop marketing partnerships. Both published and unpublished writers are welcome.

The seminar takes place at Belfast Free Library, 106 High St., on Saturday, July 13, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Registration closes July 8; advance registration is required. For more information, visit
