Marsh River opens season with music

Brooks — Marsh River Theater will open its 2014 season with the Marsh River Singers performing a "USO/Fifties Show" Friday and Saturday, May 16 and 17, at 7:30 p.m. The following night, the Mount View Chamber Singers will perform.

The "USO/Fifties Show" will features favorite songs from the World War II years and rock ‘n’ roll hits of the 1950s, along with some hilarious stories. Tickets are $10, $8 for senior citizens.

The talented Mount View Chamber Singers, under the direction of Dave Stevenson, will present a program of beautiful music Sunday, May 18, at 7 p.m. Always a crowd favorite, the Chamber Singers have delighted audiences all over the world including performances in Scotland, California, the White House, El Salvador, Ireland, Hungary and, most recently, in Costa Rica. Donations will be welcomed at this fundraiser for the group.

Marsh River Theater is right in town at 24 Monroe Highway/Route 139.
