Medical Marijuana Caregivers of Maine (MMCM) will host a community event focused on how medical marijuana has helped Maine's health and economy. Speaking will be Dave King, a Marine Corps veteran and small-business owner who benefits from medical marijuana. Also speaking will be G.W. Martin, whose family's Hogback Mountain farm in Montville has been able to benefit from the increased number of patients and caregivers in the Midcoast. Through his medicinal mix business, he has been able to provide important raw materials that are needed for the medical marijuana industry. Explaining from a policy standpoint will be Paul T. McCarrier, legislative liaison for MMCM, discussing how the law has changed since the 2009 citizens' initiative expanded the medical marijuana law, including the passage of LD 1296 in 2011. There will be light snacks and refreshments and the event is open to the public.
