Midcoast artists chosen for ‘PLAY’

Hallowell — The Harlow Gallery, 100 Water St., presents “PLAY,” a juried art exhibition featuring 44 works by 56 artists, through March 24 in the upstairs gallery of its new location. “PLAY” is an exhibition of artwork inspired by children’s art or childhood and runs concurrently with the Harlow’s annual K-8 student art exhibition, in the downstairs gallery.

The public is invited to attend and meet the artists at an opening reception Friday, March 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. Exhibitions are always free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Wednesdays through Saturdays from noon to 6 p.m. Note that the reception for “Young at Art” will be held separately: Saturday, March 10, from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Midcoast artists with work in “PLAY” include Bridget Matros of Belfast, Caitlyn Mello of Jackson, Petrea Noyes of Lincolnville, Sally Stanton of Northport, Alanna Hernandez and Lori Schafer of Rockland, Holly Smith of Rockport, Sue Reehm of South Thomaston, Otty Merrill of Tenants Harbor, Barbra Whitten of West Rockport and Robyn Vine of Winterport.
