Midcoast artists, in the ‘Nude’ (show)

Boothbay Harbor — The second annual "What's Nude in Boothbay Harbor? A Celebration of the Human Form" group show opens Saturday, Feb. 10, at the Studio 53 Fine Arts Gallery, 53 Townsend Ave., hosted by Studio 53 and the Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce during Valentine’s season.

"What’s Nude" will run Saturdays, Feb. 10 and 17, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, Feb. 11, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. An opening reception will be held Feb. 10 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.; and an Artist Potluck and Pick Up Party is set for the 17th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The public is welcome to attend and encouraged to participate (bring a dish for the potluck).

More than 40 artists from the state of Maine and New England will exhibit their artistic interpretations of the beauty and shape of the human form. The show comprises a wide range of approaches representing the human body through realism, surrealism, impressionism and abstraction. Attendees are invited and encouraged to vote for their favorite piece via the People’s Choice Award.

Midcoast artists participating include Carol Douglas, Rockport; Charles Laurier Dufour, Belfast; David Estey, Belfast; Laura Freeman, Rockport; Valerie Green, Waldoboro; Betsy Headley, Swanville; Maxwell Nolin, Brooks; and John Silverio, Lincolnville.
