Weather Brief Apr 15, 2019

Midcoast Forecast - April 15, 2019 PM

Monday has been a wet day for the Midcoast as a broad area of low pressure moved through the region dropping around 1/2" to 1" of rain. Rain will come to an end Monday night as our storm system gradually shifts east into the Canadian Maritimes.

Clouds will be slow to clear Tuesday as low pressure slowly exits east. High pressure will press in from the southwest creating a tight pressure gradient over the region making for brisk west to southwest wind through the day with gusts up to 30mph possible. Highs will near 50 during the afternoon but feel cooler with the windy conditions. High pressure will continue to build in for the mid week with mostly sunny skies on Wednesday allowing highs to reach the mid 50s.

A broad storm system will form over the heart of the country during the mid week and slowly push into New England during the late week bringing clouds and showers back to the region. The low will move in and set up over the region during the late week making for a prolonged stretch of gray and wet weather with the bulk of the rain falling Saturday. The storm will start to move out Monday but stall out bringing continued gray weather into the early week.
