Weather Brief Apr 18, 2019

Midcoast Forecast - April 18, 2019 AM

We're seeing some sun to start the day but this will change as a broad area of low pressure moving into the Great Lakes lifts a warm front over the region during the day. This will make for a mostly cloudy and cooler day with rain developing during the late evening and continuing overnight. Winds will increase out of the south Friday in the wake of the warm front that will usher in warm moist air into the region. This will bring highs into the upper 50s and low 60s during the afternoon with the bulk of organized rain holding over far northern Maine and spotty rain closer to the coast. Areas of fog will develop during the day as moist air pumps in.

Low pressure will continue to gradually push east through Friday and into Saturday that will pull a cold front into New England from the west. This front will nearly stall through the region on Saturday allowing for scattered showers through the day. The front will slowly move further east into Easter Sunday with continued showers through much of the day. The storm system will continue to press east into the Canadian Martimes on Monday but there is some uncertainty if it will stall and track back east into Maine with continued rain chances or clear out for good during the early week allowing for the return of sunshine with highs climbing to near 70.
