Weather Brief Apr 22, 2019

Midcoast Forecast - April 22, 2019 PM

The gray weather we saw through the weekend continues for Monday with clouds and fog locked in through the Midcoast but the day has been mainly dry with rain taking a break through the day. An area of low pressure off the coast of the Mid Atlantic will push north into the Gulf of Maine Monday night and into Tuesday that will bring in more showers for the Midcoast starting Monday evening and continuing into Tuesday morning. Rain will taper off into Tuesday afternoon with some peaks of sun possible in the cloud cover and temperatures holding in the 40s. Rainfall totals from this round will range either side of 1/2". The clearing will be short lived as another area of low pressure moving out of the Great Lake pushes in another round of rain late Tuesday and into the day on Wednesday with around another 1/2" of accumulation as highs climb into the low 50s.

High pressure will nudge in briefly on Thursday making for a dry day with temperature creeping up a little higher into the mid 50s with a mix of sun and clouds through the day. Another batch of rain will move in from the west Thursday night with rain developing Friday and lasting into the start of the weekend with an additional 1/2" to 1" of accumulation. We'll see gradually clearing through Saturday with some sun for the afternoon as high pressure builds over the area making for dry and partly clear skies for the overnight and the start of Sunday. Clouds build back in Sunday afternoon with another round of rain likely during the overnight and into Monday.
