Weather Brief Aug 01, 2019

Midcoast Forecast - August 1, 2019 PM

The cold front that moved through late Wednesday with isolated showers and storms has pushed offshore for Thursday allowing for the return of mostly sunny skies. Cooler and drier air is moving in behind this front along light northwest winds that will make for a more comfortable air mass through the late week and into the start of the weekend. High pressure will set up over New England on Friday making for abundant sunshine and light winds with highs in the low to mid 80s. We'll see mainly sunny skies on Saturday with increasing clouds late in the day and a chance of a shower or storm overnight as a cold front pushes in from the north. High pressure will build back in behind the front for Sunday with sunshine continuing for the second half of the weekend and through the early week. An area of low pressure will move into the region during the middle of next week bringing a return of scattered showers and storms.
