Weather Brief Feb 21, 2019

Midcoast Forecast - February 21, 2019

Sunshine is making a return Thursday afternoon after our latest round of snow that left 2" to 5" of accumulation across the Midcoast Wednesday night and early Thursday morning. The sun will hold for Friday and Saturday as high pressure builds in from the west and holds over the region. This high will not be accompanied by bitter cold with temperatures holding somewhat steady with highs in the mid 30s and lows upper teens and low 20s.

Our next winter storm will move in on Sunday bringing a mix of snow and rain. Previously, the trend has been to have this be a milder storm with more rain than snow but recent guidance suggests the opposite with snow through much of the day mixing with rain along the coast Sunday afternoon. This forecast will be ironed out further during the late week but it currently looks like a plow-able snow will be likely.

Skies will clear into the early week as bitter cold returns to the region setting the stage for another chance of snow Wednesday.
