Weather Brief Jan 24, 2020

Midcoast Forecast - January 24, 2020 PM

We've enjoyed another mild day to end the week with highs once again reaching the upper 30s and low 40s Friday with a mix of sun and clouds. Clouds will continue to increase late Friday and stay cloudy for Saturday as high pressure moves out to the northeast and low pressure tracks in from the west. The low will move into New England Saturday night and into Sunday pushing in a round of soaking rain and winter mix to the state. Temperatures for much of the Midcoast will hold above freezing during this period leading to an all rain event with sleet and snow possible across northern Maine and the western Maine mountains. The bulk of the rain will fall Saturday night with clearing Sunday morning with some embedded thunderstorms possible. We could see another round of light rain with snow inland as the storm begins to clear out to the east. We'll see gradually decreasing clouds during the early week with highs remaining above normal, in the mid to upper 30s to near 40. Colder air will then settle in for the mid to late week.
