Weather Brief Sep 11, 2019

Midcoast Forecast - September 11, 2019 AM

An area of low pressure is moving in from the west that passed through Quebec Tuesday night and will continue through Maine on Wednesday with rounds of showers. The low first lifted a warm front over the state overnight, providing the initial batch of rain while ushering in warmer and more humid air. Showers will continue through the first part of Wednesday morning. We'll see some clearing into the midday hours allowing for highs to climb into the 70s to near 80. As the low moves east late in the day it will drag a cold front in from the north, touching of a few more showers and possibly some thunderstorms during the late afternoon and evening. Rainfall totals will be fairly light with most spots below 1/2". Skies will gradually clear during the overnight making for partly to mostly sunny skies on Thursday. Cooler and drier air will filter in behind this system with highs back to the 60s and lows in the 40s and 50s. Another low will track in for the start of the weekend with periods of showers Saturday.
