Weather Brief Mar 23, 2019

Midcoast Weekend Forecast - March 23-24

The storm that brought us rain along the coast and snow inland Friday will slowly slide east as we head through Saturday drawing some colder air in on the back side of the system changing rain over to snow with light accumulations possible early in the morning. Precipitation will come to an end during the midday with gradual clearing into the afternoon with highs reaching the low 40s at the coast and 30s inland. Winds will be brisk through the day out of the northwest adding and extra chill to the air.

High pressure will build in from the south on Sunday returning the Midcoast to mostly sunny skies allowing for temperatures to climb to the mid to upper 40s during the afternoon. Clouds will increase late in the day as a cold front moves in from the north. This front will push south through the Midcoast early Monday with a mix of light rain and snow showers with little accumulation expected. Sun will return into Monday afternoon but temperatures will be cooler with highs in the 30s. Colder air will continue to filter in behind this front with lows dipping to the teens and 20s with highs in the 30s despite sunny skies. Temperature will rebound during the late week returning to 40s Thursday and near 50 on Friday. A warm front will pass through late Friday that will continue to pump in warmer air for the following weekend with highs in the 50s to near 60.
