LIBERTY — The Ivan O. Davis Liberty Library announces its monthly Art Exhibit Series for June through November, with self-taught painter Kevin Mizner featured for the month of June. Mizner, included in the 2019 ARTMAINE Annual Guide as one of Maine’s “most collectible artists,” will show a series of portraits and paintings featuring Maine people. On Thursday, June 20, at 6:30 p.m. at the Liberty Library, 59 Main St., he will provide a demonstration of his portrait painting and answer questions about his art.

On display in July, six Liberty artists will be featured, including Alan Crichton, Martha Piscuskus, Dianne Schelble, Hugh Mahon, Kris Engman and Sett Balise, presenting a wide variety of paintings, prints and sculpture. Hugh Mahon of New Jersey and Liberty will follow this group show with his own solo show of paintings in August. In September, Rockland artist Carol Sloane’s paintings will be on display. Photography will be featured in October, including works of Liberty and Montville photographers Lorna Crichton, Harlan Crichton, Paige Zeigler, Buck O’Herin and Odie Smith. Finishing off the “summer-fall” season in November, will be “The Artistry of Liberty Graphics” featuring the work of selected well-known artists whose art has appeared on Liberty Graphics T-shirts over the years.

Look for more information about each of these upcoming exhibits as the season progresses, including on the Liberty Library website at liberty.lib.me.us. The Liberty Library is next to Liberty Tool on Main Street and across the street from the Liberty Graphics Outlet Store. The Library is open Monday through Saturday, with hours posted on the website.
