In an effort to stop handling cash at the transfer station, as of Aug. 1, residents will be required to purchase trash bag stickers at the Town Office in order to drop off their trash at the station. The price per bag has not changed; Small (up to 20 gallons) - 75 cents; medium (20-35 gallons) $1.50; and large (over 35 gallons) - $2.25.

A minimum of 10 stickers can also be mailed from the Town Office. The stickers will not be sold at the transfer station and punch cards will no longer be available to purchase, although existing punch cards will still be honored. If you don’t have a sticker on your trash bag, you will not be able to leave your trash.

Montville's Rolloff Weekend is scheduled for Aug. 15 and 16, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you need assistance from attendants to offload your contents, you are required to wear a face covering. A list of acceptable items will be posted when it is available.

The RSU 3 Summer Meals program for kids is in full swing with distribution points all around the district. In Montville, kids 18 years old and younger can receive meals for two days on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11:15 to 11:45 a.m. at the Montville Town House next to the Town Office on Center Road. Meals will also be distributed at Walker Elementary School in Liberty from 12:15 to 1 p.m. They ask that only one adult exit the vehicle to pick up meals. The program will go until Aug. 14.

The Liberty Library is open! A limit of four people at a time will be allowed in the library at one time, face masks required, and curbside service is available if you are unable to wear one. Only one person at a time may use a public computer, and it will be cleaned after each use.

The library is currently raising funds by selling “I Love Liberty Library” tote bags for $20 at the library. The rugged canvas and roomy size makes the bags perfect for transporting your library books. The are 18 inches wide by 17.5 inches high with 25-inch handles. Beautifully printed with water-based inks by Liberty Graphics. Limited quantities are available. Come get them before they are gone.
